The basic philosophy underlying all services offered by the Sisters is respect for the human dignity and value of each person and the belief that each girl in care needs love and acceptance along with firm and consistent guidance.

By providing total care and comprehensive training to girls with emotional, behavioral or family difficulties, to lead them towards a positive, contributive and rewarding life.

Service Target

girls aged 9-21

For 9-21 years old girls who are having behavioral and emotional challenges, and whose parents cannot provide them sufficient parental supervision and care.

Residential Care, Psychotherapy and Professional Counselling

 

Service Content

Home Care and Life Skills Training

Registered social workers act as home instructors to provide guidance and counseling. Girls are living in a stable, disciplined, respectful and warm home environment to learn self-love and loving others.

 

Psychological Service & Social Work Services

Clinical psychologist provides clinical psychological assessment, psychotherapy and specialized treatment, such as Play Therapy, Art Therapy, etc.

 

Registered social workers provide cognitive and behavior interventions on individual & group basis.

 

Therapeutic Programs

Providing an assortment of developmental, therapeutic and life-planning activities to enhance one’s resilience, self- connection, and to develop self-competence.

I. Residential Care Service (with School for Social Development on-site)

 

  • - To provide residential care and special education in Marycove School.

  • - Admission Age︰9-17 (P.5 to S5 first school term)

  • - Service scope and content are same as item I, while the service period is between 3 and 12 months.

  • - The placements of the original schools will be reserved. Students are going to resume their schooling in original schools after the completion of the adjustment program.

  • - Total capacity of item I and item II is 70.

Our Growth Service

Dream Base@Marycove

Marycove Center is adopting an integrated approach of trauma informed practices, positive psychology and cognitive behavioral therapy as training frameworks. By applying art-based learning in our Dream Base Project since 2020, we use arts as a mean to explore non-art topics, including self-understanding, self-acceptance, to achieve personal growth and life planning.

Program Focus:

Our Lady's Hostel is providing residential services to 30 girls (both at school or on job) from 14 to 20. In preparing for the girls' independence, the programe emphasizes to life skill training. Our professional social worker will provide brief counselling. For those who are emotionally disturbed will be supported by the agency-based clinical psychologist through psychological assessment and therapy.

 

 

Fees:

$600 per month

 

Apply for service:

Girls who wish to apply will need to be referred by a social worker from non-government organizations, schools or the Social Welfare Department. Each application is waitlisted and handled by the Central Referral System for Residential Child Care Services (CRSRC). After receiving the referral from CRSRC, the hostel conducts the intake and admission procedures and the girls can be admitted to the hostel.

Program Focus:

Marycove school is a special school that provides individualized educational classes for Primary 6 to Secondary 6 for 135 students, including 90 girls from Marycove Center and 45 day school students. As well, Marycove school emphasis happy learning and provides a flexible but practical curriculum for students losing their interest in study.
